Six Flags Over Texas, the popular amusement park in Arlington, has announced significant changes to its payment system and guest policies, set to take effect on March 22, 2025. These updates aim to enhance the visitor experience and improve safety measures within the park.
Cashless Transition: In a move towards modernization and efficiency, Six Flags Over Texas will no longer accept cash payments at any location within the park. This includes restaurants, retail stores, games, ticket windows, and parking toll booths. Visitors will need to use credit cards, debit cards, or mobile payment options for all transactions.
“This policy is being put in place to ensure that all guests have the best time ever and leave happy and eager to visit again. the spokesperson added. “The ‘Reverse ATMs’ provide a convenient solution for those who typically use cash.”
‘Reverse ATMs’ for Cash Conversion: To accommodate guests who prefer or only have cash, Six Flags is introducing ‘Reverse ATMs’ throughout the park. These kiosks allow visitors to convert their cash into prepaid debit cards at no additional cost. The prepaid cards can be used not only within Six Flags but also at any location accepting Visa payments.
New Chaperone Policy: In addition to the cashless transition, Six Flags Over Texas is implementing a new chaperone policy to enhance safety and maintain a family-friendly environment. Starting March 22, 2025:
- All guests ages 15 or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to enter or remain in the park after 4:00 p.m.
- Chaperones must present a valid government-issued photo ID with date of birth at entry.
- One chaperone may accompany up to ten guests ages 15 or younger per day.
- Chaperones must remain inside the park and be available by phone throughout their group’s visit.
Impact on Visitors: These changes are expected to affect a significant number of park-goers, particularly families and youth groups. Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead by bringing appropriate forms of payment or utilizing the ‘Reverse ATMs’ upon arrival.
For those affected by the chaperone policy, it’s crucial to arrange for appropriate supervision when visiting the park, especially during evening hours. Six Flags emphasizes that this policy applies to all ticket holders and season pass members.
As Six Flags Over Texas prepares for the upcoming season, these new policies reflect a broader trend in the amusement park industry towards enhanced security measures and streamlined operations. Visitors are advised to check the official Six Flags website for the most up-to-date information before their visit.
