JetBlue Airways unveiled its latest special livery aircraft today, bringing the beloved characters of Nintendo’s Super Mario franchise to the skies. The Airbus A320-200, aptly named the “Cloudtop Cruiser,” features a vibrant exterior design showcasing Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, and Bowser.

The 22-year-old aircraft, registered as N561JB, has been transformed into a flying tribute to the Mushroom Kingdom. Passengers boarding the plane will be greeted by familiar faces on the welcome screens of their seatback entertainment systems, immersing them in the world of Mario before takeoff.

“We’re always looking for ways to make flying fun and memorable for our customers,” said Joanna Geraghty, President and COO of JetBlue. “This partnership with Nintendo brings the joy and adventure of Super Mario to our passengers of all ages.”

The Cloudtop Cruiser is more than just eye-catching artwork. JetBlue has outfitted the plane with family-friendly amenities, including dietary-inclusive snacks and drinks, as well as a curated selection of animated movies, TV shows, and interactive games on its inflight entertainment system.

This collaboration builds on previous successful partnerships between JetBlue and Nintendo. Last year, the companies hosted a “Nintendo Switch On the Go” pop-up event at JFK Airport’s Terminal 5, featuring a meet-and-greet with Mario himself.

As the Cloudtop Cruiser takes to the skies, it joins a fleet of 130 A320s in JetBlue’s service. The airline hints at more special activations throughout the year, promising to keep the magic of Mario alive for passengers long after they’ve touched down.

The unveiling of this unique aircraft underscores the growing trend of airlines partnering with entertainment brands to create immersive travel experiences. As the Cloudtop Cruiser embarks on its maiden voyage, it’s clear that for JetBlue and Nintendo, the sky’s the limit when it comes to bringing joy to air travel.
