About Me: Annemarije de Boer is a Los Angeles-based director and visual storyteller specializing in travel and food journalism. Drawing from her BA in Psychology and over ten years in the restaurant industry, Annemarije uses her understanding of human connection and culinary expertise to create visually compelling stories that capture the soul of authentic dining experiences. Her work as a cook at Mardi Gras Zone in New Orleans and NightHawks Diner have shaped her unique perspective on regional cuisine and hospitality culture.
Born in the Netherlands and raised in Scotland, her global perspective and European palate inform her approach to discovering America’s hidden food landscapes. When not working, this self-proclaimed BBQ queen crafts unique cocktails and explores the country’s backroad cafes, country stores, and hole-in-the-wall joints that never make it onto TripAdvisor—always seeking the stories behind the plates and the people who create them.
