Universal Studios Japan launched its highly anticipated “Wicked” Celebration on March 7, 2025, bringing the magical world of Oz to life through character experiences, themed merchandise, and specialty food offerings. The event will run through December 31, 2025, giving visitors nearly ten months to experience the celebration.
Featured Experiences include daily character interactions:
- Meet-and-greet opportunities with Elphaba and Glinda located outside the Hollywood Dream ride exit
- Costume exhibit displaying authentic replicas from the blockbuster film
- Themed environment celebrating the musical phenomenon
Exclusive Merchandise commemorates the celebration:
- Emerald City tote bag
- “Wicked” themed pouch
- Stainless steel tumbler
- Specialty T-shirts
All items are available at the Universal Studio Select retail location within the park.
Culinary Offerings extend the theme to food with a special “Wicked” churro inspired by the two witches. The peanut butter-flavored treat can be purchased at the food cart in front of Universal Monsters Live: Rock and Roll Show.
This celebration joins similar “Wicked” experiences at other Universal parks worldwide, though the Japan implementation appears more focused on character interactions and merchandise rather than the elaborate themed environments found at Universal Studios Singapore, which features replicas of Emerald City locations.
Universal Studios Japan, which welcomed 16 million visitors in 2023 as the world’s third-most visited theme park, continues to leverage popular entertainment properties to enhance guest experiences throughout the year.
