GustOrganics, located at 519 Sixth Ave. (W. 14th St.), New York, NY 10011, prides itself on being the first and only certified organic restaurant in New York City. Their commitment to using 100% organic ingredients is commendable, but our experience left much to be desired.

Our Visit

Upon entering, we were greeted by a confusing menu that seemed to be all over the map. Pizzas were surprisingly cheap, ranging from $5 to $9 on the lunch menu, while sandwiches were significantly pricier at $13 to $15. Our server warned us that the pizzas were small, which was an understatement.

Food Rundown

The grilled vegetable pizza, despite its appealing appearance, was hard to eat and lacked flavor.

The fruit salad, which arrived first, was more akin to fruit soup, requiring us to fish around in the juice to find the pieces of fruit.

Fruit Salad
The grilled vegetable piadini, while visually appealing, was underwhelming. It used summer vegetables in the dead of winter, except for the earthy mushroom, which was the highlight. The vegetables were under-seasoned and mealy, and the accompanying salad had rubbery cucumbers.

Conclusion

Despite its commendable commitment to organic ingredients, our experience at GustOrganics was marred by a confusing menu, small portions, and underwhelming dishes. The establishment’s current status is closed, as indicated by GAYOT, and the information provided may not reflect the current offerings or status of GustOrganics.

Our Verdict

Despite its commendable commitment to organic ingredients, our experience at GustOrganics was marred by a confusing menu, small portions, and underwhelming dishes. The establishment’s inconsistent pricing and lack of flavor in their dishes left much to be desired. Overall, the dining experience fell short of expectations.
