Air France is raising the bar for luxury air travel with the launch of its redesigned La Première first-class cabin, offering an experience akin to flying on a private jet. This ambitious project, involving a €1 billion investment over five years, will be rolled out on 19 of the airline’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
Exclusive Suites provide unparalleled privacy. The new La Première cabin features just four enclosed suites, each offering 3.5 square meters of personal space. Suites include a full-length bed, a chaise lounge, floor-to-ceiling curtains, and floor-level storage.
French Elegance permeates the experience. Air France has focused on refined details, including Limoges porcelain plates, Christofle cutlery, and metalwork by Degrenne for in-flight dining, as well as Jacquemus-designed pajamas and Sisley beauty products. Top chefs such as Emmanuel Renaut and Dominique Crenn have collaborated on unique dining experiences.
Strategic Routes target affluent travelers. The new La Première will debut on flights to New York-JFK, with plans to expand to Los Angeles, Singapore, and Tokyo.
Affordable Luxury positions La Première as a compelling alternative to private jet travel. While return flights to New York will cost approximately €10,000, Air France-KLM‘s CEO Ben Smith notes that some customers who typically fly private are purchasing all four suites as a more cost-effective option.
As competition intensifies in the premium travel market, Air France aims to set a new standard with La Première, combining luxury, privacy, and French elegance in a way that appeals to discerning travelers.
