Ever wondered what “mush” is? It’s a simple yet delicious combination of chili and mac n’ cheese, coined by my friend Phaedra. A few years ago, I had my first taste of mush, and it was love at first bite. The best part? It’s incredibly easy to make.
Recently, I found myself at Trader Joe’s, looking for a quick and affordable meal. I used a recipe from my sister, Connie, for a cheap and quick Trader Joe’s chili. With a pack of ground beef, a can of black beans, and a can of diced tomatoes (instead of tomato soup), I was all set. I cooked the pasta just short of al dente time, mixed it with the black beans and diced tomatoes, and then added the cooked ground meat and a generous amount of parmesan cheese. Served with bread, it was a perfect meal.
