After two decades of defining luxury Chinese dining on the Upper East Side, Philippe Chow will bid farewell to its original flagship location at 33 East 60th Street on July 13, 2025. The celebrated restaurant’s closure coincides with its 20th anniversary and building redevelopment by Extell Development. However, culinary enthusiasts need not mourn long—the brand’s most ambitious chapter unfolds this September with a dramatic two-story flagship at 10 East 52nd Street, featuring a coveted Fifth Avenue entrance.
A New Chapter for NYC’s Upscale Chinese Dining
Designed by architecture firm 3877.design, the new space promises to elevate Philippe Chow’s already theatrical dining experience. Vaulted ceilings create dramatic verticality while a spacious bar anchors the main dining area. Private dining rooms, accessible via a wine cellar elevator, add an element of exclusivity that matches the restaurant’s celebrity clientele.
What stays the same:
• Tableside Peking duck presentations.
• Salt & Pepper Lobster and Chicken Satay.
• Filet Mignon with Oyster Sauce.
• Crispy spring rolls and lettuce wraps.
• Chef Philippe Chow’s emphasis on theatrical hospitality.
The relocation reflects broader development pressures reshaping Manhattan’s dining landscape, yet Philippe Chow’s expansion trajectory remains strong with locations in Downtown NYC, Washington D.C., and Kuwait City, plus a Nashville opening planned for August 2025.
Continuity Meets Innovation
Reservations for the new flagship are already being accepted through Philippe Chow’s website waitlist, ensuring devoted diners can secure their spot at this next iteration of New York luxury dining.
